Das Rektorat zeichnet in diesem Jahr Frau Anna Katharina Fenzl mit dem Lehrpreis für herausragendes studentisches Engagement zur Verbesserung der Lehrbedingungen aus.
Frau Fenzl studiert derzeit den Masterstudiengang Elektro- und Informationstechnik. Neben ihrem Studium arbeitet sie aktiv im Fachschaftsrat mit und setzt sich dabei weit über ein übliches Maß studentischen Engagements für Verbesserungen in Studium und Lehre hinaus ein.
Für ihr Projekt „E-Room“ ist Frau Fenzl von der Fachschaft Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik für den Lehrpreis nominiert worden. Die Nominierung wurde zudem unterstützt durch Herrn Professor Rehtanz aus der Fakultät Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik.
Im Frühjahr 2020 hat Frau Fenzl mit enormem Engagement und hohem freiwilligen Arbeitseinsatz das Konzept des E-Rooms entwickelt, das Studierenden einen interaktiven Austausch über konkrete Lernmaterialien, aber auch über ihre Erfahrungen ermöglichen soll. Auch Lehrende haben die Möglichkeit, zusätzliche Übungsmaterialien im E-Room zur Verfügung zu stellen. Damit hat Frau Fenzl eine zentrale Herausforderung in der Umstellung von Präsenz- auf Online-Lehre erkannt: Durch die Verlagerung der Lehre in den digitalen Raum müssen nicht nur neue Kommunikationswege für direktes und indirektes Feedback zwischen Lehrenden und Studierenden geschaffen werden. Auch für den Austausch zwischen Studierenden gilt es, neue Kommunikationskanäle zu etablieren. Der E-Room zielt genau auf diese Herausforderungen und bietet ein niedrigschwelliges Orientierungsangebot von Studierenden für Studierende. Neben dem hohen persönlichen Einsatz in der Konzeption und im Aufbau des E-Rooms überzeugte insbesondere, dass Frau Fenzl mit dem E-Room ein fakultätsweites Angebot etablieren konnte, das einen hohen Abstimmungsaufwand mit den beteiligten Lehrstühlen voraussetzt. Mit ihrem Engagement leistet Frau Fenzl ohne Zweifel einen maßgeblichen Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Lehr- und Lernbedingungen an der TU Dortmund. Dies soll mit dem Lehrpreis 2020 gewürdigt werden.

This year the Rectorate presents Ms. Anna Katharina Fenzl with the Teaching Award 2020 for outstanding student commitment to improving teaching conditions.
Ms. Fenzl is currently studying a Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. In addition to her studies, she actively participates in the departmental student council and is dedicated to improving the study and teaching conditions far beyond the usual level of student commitment. For her project “E-Room”, Ms. Fenzl has been nominated for the Teaching Award 2020 by the student representative body of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The nomination was also supported by Professor Rehtanz from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
In the spring of 2020, Ms. Fenzl developed the concept of the E-room with enormous commitment and a high level of voluntary work, which is intended to enable students to interactively exchange information about concrete learning material, but also about their experience. Teachers also have the opportunity to provide additional practice material in the E-room. In doing so, Ms. Fenzl has recognized a central challenge in the conversion from face-to-face to online teaching: When shifting the teaching to the digital room, it is not only between teachers and students that new communication channels must be created for direct and indirect feedback. It is also necessary to establish new communication channels for the exchange among students. The E-room aims precisely at these challenges and offers a low-threshold orientation service made by students for students. In addition to the high level of personal commitment in the conceptualization and creation of the E-room, it was particularly convincing that Ms. Fenzl was able to establish the E-room as an offering at faculty level, which requires a high level of coordination with the participating chairs. With her commitment, Ms. Fenzl undoubtedly makes a significant contribution to improving the teaching and learning conditions at TU Dortmund University. This is to be honored with the Teaching Award 2020.
