Gambrinus Forum
The Dortmund Gambrinus Fellowships were founded in 1993 by the Association of Dortmund Brewers on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the brewing rights of the city of Dortmund. These fellowships enable research stays of foreign scientists at TU Dortmund University.
In the past 33 years, Gambrinus funds have enabled more than 200 guest scientists and scholars to be welcomed in Dortmund, which has led to numerous international collaborations in the field of research. The highlight of the annual Gambrinus activities is the "Gambrinus Forum", traditionally held at the Westfälischer Industrieklub. Here, internationally renowned scientists and academics address a broad, also non-university public with lectures.
30th Gambrinus-Forum
On October 19, TU Dortmund University once again invited representatives of the local community to attend academic lectures in downtown Dortmund. At the 30th Gambrinus-Forum, Prof. Maike Luhmann, Professor of Psychological Methodology at Ruhr-University Bochum and a research fellow at the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG) in Bochum/Marburg, spoke on the topic of loneliness and why it affects us all. Prof. Beate Herpertz-Dahlmann, Senior Professor at the University Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics, and Psychotherapy at RWTH Aachen University, spoke about anorexia nervosa in children and adolescents and the influences of biology and culture.
As is tradition, the TU Dortmund Internationalization Awards were also presented during the event.
