DORTBUNT!

Since 2016, the city of Dortmund has shown its diversity at the “DORTBUNT!” Cityfest. Under the motto “One city. Many faces” tens of thousands of people celebrate their colorful city during one weekend. A varied program is presented on twelve stages and at numerous stands institutions, actors and associations present themselves to the public. Over the years, more than 150 partners have clearly demonstrated how much commitment, passion and quality the city has to offer.

The TU Dortmund presented itself again this year at its booth in all its diversity: Contributions and hands-on activities from the areas of studies, sustainability, technology and sports provided insights into science for young and old.

Information on study opportunities was available at the advice desk from the Central Student Advisory Service. The senior studies program also presented itself. Technology fans got their money's worth at an event organized by DLR_SchoolLab: the staff gave a live demonstration of their 3D printer. At an event organized by the Sustainability Office, visitors could test how much electricity is actually needed to charge a cell phone battery. To do this, the electricity had to be "trampled" on a bicycle. The Human Resources Development quiz on careers and training brought a fair amount of competition to the stand. The dance groups of the university sports department got really active. The Anatolian folk dancers and the cheerleaders showed parts of their program next to the booth.

In the afternoon, a KinderUni lecture started in the Reinoldikirche, where the life story of the church was explored with Prof. Barbara Welzel.

Musical entertainment was provided, among others, by the TU Dortmund music ensemble "Hava Nice Day" on Friedensplatz.
