Scholarship ceremony
Since the winter semester 2011/2012, TU Dortmund University has offered the Deutschlandstipendium as a funding opportunity for students. As part of this program, high-achieving and talented students are supported by private donors and companies. At the TU Dortmund University's annual scholarship ceremony, the donors have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with the more than 200 students who have received funding.
Looking back on the 2025/2026 scholarship ceremony
On February 26, 2026, the traditional scholarship celebration took place at the Westfälischer Industrieklub. Sponsors and scholarship holders had the opportunity to get to know each other and network. As part of the festive program, certificates were awarded to the sponsors as a sign of recognition for their commitment. The scholarship holders were then presented with scholarship certificates by the faculty members present. In the 2025/26 funding year, a total of 233 scholarships were donated by 59 sponsors. The largest sponsors include Sparkasse Dortmund, the Wilo-Foundation, the Bernd Jochheim Foundation, the RAG-Stiftung, the Gesellschaft der Freunde der Technischen Universität Dortmund, the Alumni der Informatik Dortmund and Leue & Nill GmbH & Co.
The Soroptimist Sponsorship Award was also presented to Antonia van Ophuysen from the Department of Computer Science during the scholarship ceremony. Julia Meyer-Kleinmann, President of the Soroptimist International Club Dortmund, honored her outstanding achievements in her computer science studies as well as her voluntary work, in particular her commitment to sustainability at TU Dortmund University and the promotion of women in STEM subjects.
