Review 2024
A large crowd gathered on the North Campus between Emil-Figge-Straße 50 and the Mechanical Engineering building in the hot summer weather. With their diverse program, the departments, departmental student councils and other university institutions invited campus guests to participate in the activities at their numerous booths: for example, visitors of all ages were able to shatter roses frozen in liquid nitrogen, complete an obstacle course with an exoskeleton or marvel at the best goals scored by soccer-playing robots. At selfie spots and DIY stations, campus visitors were also able to take home souvenirs.
Live bands, TU ensembles and DJs on the stages at Martin-Schmeißer-Platz and in front of Emil-Figge-Straße 50 as well as at smaller stations on campus created a party atmosphere. The dance groups and the cheerleading team of TU Dortmund University wowed the audience with their stunts and inspired guests to dance. At its barbecue station, the Studierendenwerk (Association for Student Affairs) gave away their popular 3,000 free sausages and 2,000 vegetable schnitzels. International students offered a variety of dishes from their home countries at their booths, united by the motto “We are TU”.
